Fabrication Services
Structural.
The structural bay is 60 x 500 feet long or 30,000 square feet with multiple OH cranes and the capacity to lift 10 tons with single crane and up to 20 tons with tandem cranes.
We have a 3 axis drill line with tandem saw as well as a single spindle drill line and multiple saws.
The structural parts shop with CNC automation is another 10,000 sq ft with an anglemaster, ironworkers, saws, and 3 plasma tables, which are capable of processing steel plate of up to one inch in thickness, to within 1/100th of an inch in accuracy.
The more challenging the structural fabrication and erection, the bigger our competitive advantage is. The tighter the schedule, the better our proactive processes stack up against our competition.
We excel at and self perform structural renovations. We have fabricated steel for institutions across New England, such as Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine, the University of New Hampshire, Dartmouth College, Times Square NYC, and the Manchester/Boston Regional Airport.
And we did it all on schedule! And plans are in the works to open a 2nd shift and add another 12,000 square feet of overhead crane storage for structural material infeed to our drill lines.
ERECTION.
We have a fleet of over 40 flatbed trailers allowing stored raw materials or fabricated materials.
We have 3 rack body delivery trucks for Misc and Ornamental.
We partner with approximately 15 local erectors for new building erection, while normally self performing the more complicated Misc Iron, Ornamental and structural Renovation scope with our own field forces.
We have 7 fully outfitted misc Iron/ornamental crews with utility body trucks and gas/diesel welders.
STAIRS and RAILS.
We work with Advance Steel SDS2 and Tekla using in house and outside production teams of detailers.
We prefer and excel at single source fast track design build projects where our involvement early in the process generates more time savings for a contractor’s schedule and cost savings for the owner than the traditional design/bid/build model can.
DECORATIVE IRON.
When your project requires stainless steel, aluminum, brass, or glass, American Steel can provide it. We have the understanding and experience to provide the architectural finish necessary for any decorative metal needs. American Steel can provide products from railings to wall sconces, and everything in between.

MISCELLANEOUS METALS.
American Steel is one of New England’s largest miscellaneous metals fabrication companies. State-of-the-art rolling, bending, and cutting technologies allow us to fulfill any custom fabrication requirement. The misc shop is now 340 x 60 or slightly over 20,000 square feet utilizing laser layout and CNC automation and our expert craftsmen allow us to produce the most complex ornamental misc metal products in a timely manner. We offer complete engineering calculations for stairs and railings when required.
We have our own highly experienced installation crews and heavy welding trucks with diesel welders. These crews are the leading edge of our customer satisfaction effort and they respond accordingly. Our field crews know that a safe work place is their first priority; to which our safety practices and experience modification rate attest.
